What was done -
This year for the Migrant School Project, I decided to teach English classes at the Zhulin Primary Migrant School. I taught two fifth grade classes over a period of four days. The classes were packed! There were more than 50 students crammed into one classroom. I split my class into three parts. The first part was singing, translating and understanding English nursery rhymes. For the second part, I prepared a dialogue that students would read together and then perform in front of other classmates. Lastly, we reviewed new vocabulary together, translating English words into Chinese. Below is my introduction to the class on the first day of classes.
